Clear hate speech being protected?

Westborough Baptist Church, the face of hatred, the anti-Christ incarnate as Christ was all about compassion for everyone and Westbourough Baptist church is all about hatred of anyone and everyone.  Please pray for their souls so they do not burn in hell forever and ever amen.

Okay, I’m not a Christian, more an ecclectic agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings, nor do I believe in hell like they do, but I am embarrassed for my Christian friends for having so-called co-religionists like these and feel sorry for the already hurting people who are being harrassed by them.  But hey, if Westborough Baptists have the right to harrass people on grounds of free speech, then the same should apply for putting the above message on billboards, giving the whole community a chance to distance themselves from these hate mongers, as well as picketing Westborough Baptist church services.

I was reading a bit more about the Westborough Baptists and saw a comment by the church spokesman, Shirley Phelps-Roper, saying they want God to punish Americans for tolerating homosexuality. They picket funerals to make people angry, she says: They want people to reject God and be condemned to hell.

Wow.  I’ve always said evangelists were annoying, but this takes the cake!  What are they?  Evangelists for the Devil they believe in?

That said, I didn’t need Westborough baptists to see that such gods as Yaweh and Allah were enemies of mankind if they’re real at all or even ancient astronauts.  Whatever.  All I had to do was read about them in their own holy books.  But rejecting them does NOT mean embracing evil.  I’m simply not religious.  I do not embrace evil.

As I see it, evil is as evil does and the Westborough baptists are clearly evil because they are deliberately doing hurtful things to their fellow human beings in the name of religion, sure as any jihadi mass murders innocent people in the name of Allah.  But to borrow some personifications of evil from religion, which I must admit are handy tools of expression, how about these picket sign ideas:

Westborough Baptists are the Devil’s own evangelists.  They believe in a Hell they WANT others to burn in.  How saddistic is that?

Terrorists and Westborough Baptists alike are the fire logs for the furnace of Hell

Westborough Baptists are the Anti-Christ, teaching hate rather than compassion for all mankind.  Boycott and shun them!

All things good are the antithesis of all things Westbourough Baptist.

Please, drink the damn Kool-Aid already!

Anyone else have some good ideas for picket signs against them?  Here’s a link to their picketing schedule so they can be picketted against when they come to your town:

What do you think?  Turn about fair play?  Let’s shovel a shipyard of karma right back at these Westborough Baptists.

About Ampbreia

I'm an ex-Pentacostal, ex-Muslim, ecclectic Agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings. I am not affiliated with any organized religion or political platform, but I do believe in magic and all things wise and wonderful. I work as an admin in a calibration lab. I've published 2 books so far this year: Lost in Foreign Passions: Love and betrayal, passion and loss in the heart of an alien land (a memoir of my time as a Muslimah and living in Iran for a year), written under my previous married name, Debra Kamza, and Dream Lover (a paranormal romance, the tale of witch that summons her favorite character out of a Bewitched spin-off and the actor who plays him as well). I'm constantly writing stories and poems, thoughts and dreams, and quite a few opinions - many of which are not popular but oh well. Bite me. I'm interested in art, animals, the paranormal, and people. I love to dance, all sorts, but have been studying belly dance since 2006 and LOVE it! I love anime too and love dressing up and going to conventions. My writing runs the gummut of historical, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and erotica. Beware: I may not be safe reading for work. Just saying....

Having read this and your essay on stalking I simply want to say. YGG.

Running from a predator only provokes them. Black bears rarely attack when they are faced with what they interpret their behavior.

Can you imagine the Westboro creeps if they had walk through a crowd of protestors to attend services?

    Good writing. Good thinking.

    Thank you.
