My hamster Gizmo popping out to inspect while I clean another part of his Habitrail:

He’s so helpful!

Next up my gecko posing with his favorite cactus for some mysterious reason:

Wild flowers at Deception Pass:

Some more lovely sights to be seen at Deception Pass…  This was in April.

This is my sister, brother, & mother…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA  …on a trail that makes a good argument for NEVER EVER trying it while drunk from a beach party on the way back to one’s campsite:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA not that I ever would, nor they.  It’s just amusing to contemplate.  It wouldn’t end well for the drunk though, so I hope it doesn’t happen nearly as often as I imagine it might.  This is, after all, a place known for its beach parties.

The latest rendition of my Aquarium.  I redecorate it every time I clean it.  It keeps the fish from getting bored or too competitive.

My devilish little granddaughter, Vanessa, having gotten into the masks I had pinned to my bedroom wall.

About Ampbreia

I'm an ex-Pentacostal, ex-Muslim, ecclectic Agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings. I am not affiliated with any organized religion or political platform, but I do believe in magic and all things wise and wonderful. I work as an admin in a calibration lab. I've published 2 books so far this year: Lost in Foreign Passions: Love and betrayal, passion and loss in the heart of an alien land (a memoir of my time as a Muslimah and living in Iran for a year), written under my previous married name, Debra Kamza, and Dream Lover (a paranormal romance, the tale of witch that summons her favorite character out of a Bewitched spin-off and the actor who plays him as well). I'm constantly writing stories and poems, thoughts and dreams, and quite a few opinions - many of which are not popular but oh well. Bite me. I'm interested in art, animals, the paranormal, and people. I love to dance, all sorts, but have been studying belly dance since 2006 and LOVE it! I love anime too and love dressing up and going to conventions. My writing runs the gummut of historical, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and erotica. Beware: I may not be safe reading for work. Just saying....

It helps with most any creature of territorial habit. They require a great deal of familiarity with their surroundings in order to get territorially defensive over one particular spot.

Gizmo is adoreable so is your grandaughter. Nice pictures!

I do not handle anything small and rodent-like very well (the hamster, for example). The gecko is cute; I just couldn’t touch it! Cute aquarium set-up! My sister, having just graduated from college, is really excited about getting an aquarium again. I should mention the scenery-change suggestion to her. (and this is eyelidferry from xanga, by the way :))

I don’t hold the gecko either. He’s just fun to watch. But Gizmo is quite the sweet little fluff ball to hold. He just can’t seem to hold still. Welcome to WordPress fellow transplant. It’s good to find some familiar faces in this strange new land.

Gizmo reminds me of my old little rascal! I’ve got two pet rats now, it’s strange how critters so small can be so full of love. (and other things, of course)

    • ampbreia says:

Poop… lots of poop… and seeds and bedding in their furry cheeks… but more love. That’s what counts. I’ve heard rats can be pretty smart.

      • charlieemaria says:

You’ve heard correct! Okay; one of them has less braincells than a spoon but she’s cuddly and sweet.
However, the other one can stand on command, spin on command and even jump through hoops. (Depending on how much she fancies cucumber that day)
They are intelligent little things, and their personalities have always been more prominant to me over mice.

Cuddly and sweet counts and spoons can be shiny bright, right? I’d like to see the smart one doing tricks. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a performing rat before. I think if I ever get one, it’ll be a Dumbo. Those ears of theirs make them kind of cute. Or a Kangaroo rat. Those are cute too.
