1.  Ever answered messages from someone online out of sheer politeness only to have them come on to you and then when you reject them since you’re not available, don’t really know them, and aren’t attracted to them, they complain that you’re being very unfair?

What on earth is the proper response to that?  Maybe not answering at all?  Or do I just have to explain it all to him in excruciating detail?

Geeze Louise, guys: just because you’re attracted to someone does NOT mean they are attracted to you.  The laws of attraction are what they are and “fairness” has nothing to do with it.  Grow up!  LOL.

2.  Ever since I saw photos of the Geddy Mansion, a Roman Villa reconstruction in Mariposa, CA, I’ve been inspired to create such a house suitable for modern times and in a much smaller scale.  My mind has been full it, working out all sorts of details as on my HGTV software I’ve been drawing it.  So is it any surprise I’m dreaming architecturally as well?

3.  Last night I dreamt I was building not just a house but a scene… a set up for something to happen… and then I’d rebuild the whole scene but with a change or two.  I kept doing that over and over again and was actually burning out on it, wondering why I was going to all that trouble.  At that point, someone explained to me that I was really building multiple realities of a particular circumstance in order to find just the right one.  I kept that up all night.  I’m exhausted!

4.  A professional network I belong to, Linked In, has me a bit worried.  Recently, after having endorsed the skills of some associates on there, I started receiving messages from people I knew, but not on there, thanking or rejecting “my invite” to them to Linked In.  These were people who I knew on various social networking sites other than Linked In but whose emails I didn’t have.

One of them, in thanking me, said my personal phone number and both private and business emails were on the invite, information about me he had not formally had.  He doesn’t worry me.  He’s a friend.  But who else did my personal information go out to?  If it was everyone I know on social networks… oy-vei!  There are some people I wouldn’t appreciate having that about me… Nigerian bloody scammers, for instance.  Good grief!  How could that happen?  Would Linked In have done that on purpose?

Have any of you received Linked In invites from me?  If so, what information was included in them about me that you didn’t have previously?

About Ampbreia

I'm an ex-Pentacostal, ex-Muslim, ecclectic Agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings. I am not affiliated with any organized religion or political platform, but I do believe in magic and all things wise and wonderful. I work as an admin in a calibration lab. I've published 2 books so far this year: Lost in Foreign Passions: Love and betrayal, passion and loss in the heart of an alien land (a memoir of my time as a Muslimah and living in Iran for a year), written under my previous married name, Debra Kamza, and Dream Lover (a paranormal romance, the tale of witch that summons her favorite character out of a Bewitched spin-off and the actor who plays him as well). I'm constantly writing stories and poems, thoughts and dreams, and quite a few opinions - many of which are not popular but oh well. Bite me. I'm interested in art, animals, the paranormal, and people. I love to dance, all sorts, but have been studying belly dance since 2006 and LOVE it! I love anime too and love dressing up and going to conventions. My writing runs the gummut of historical, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and erotica. Beware: I may not be safe reading for work. Just saying....

    1. Yes, I’ve had that problem with someone recently. I’d ignore that person if I were you.
    2. The Geddy Mansion is gorgeous! If I could afford to have a home like that I’d go for it. I’d love to see what you’ve created!
    3. Dreams can be so interesting at times. It might just be telling you something!
    4. I’d be worried about that, too! Did you contact them? I used to be on that site years ago. I am hoping my info there is no longer available. I hope no one else has any info of yours that they shouldn’t. I’ve had that issue with Facebook and Google accounts.

    Have a good afternoon!:)

      1. I think I may do that. I really don’t know what to say to him at this point. Guys really are inexplicable at times.
      2. That it is! I really want to see that place in person one of these days, maybe take a road trip to California or something. I’ve also been wanting to see the Forestier Underground gardens down there too. I’ve been having a lot of fun with my project and will definitely post pictures of it here if I ever get all the details worked out to my satisfaction. It’ll be much smaller than the Geddy Mansions of course but I still don’t think I’d ever be able to afford it in real life unless I won the lottery. But we can dream, can’t we?
      3. I think it’s a side-affect of obsessing over my project too much.
      4. No, I haven’t yet. Still curious to see who all got my personal information and by what critteria Linked In may have sent out invitations for me. I don’t think I asked it to do that, but maybe I did it by accident somehow.

    1. I’ve never been to California and I’d love to see those places, too.
    2. I can’t wait to see the pictures when you’re done with it! Yeah, we can dream of owning mansions etc lol.
    3. I am sure it’s a side effect, too. I often dream of things that are happening around me and concern me too much.
    4. Good luck with that! I hope it’s sorted soon.

Hubby has a Linkedin account, but he never says anything about it, so it must not send his stuff around. Better check your settings!

Thank you… and yes, I will.

I blocked LinkedIn the instant I got an invite. I don’t like my personal stuff floating around like that.

    • ampbreia says:

So you did get an invite? What information was on it? I don’t blame you for blocking it. It’s been a pretty useful network up until now. I don’t like the idea of my personal information being spread so liberally. That’s kind of scary. I wonder if they weren’t hacked as so recently happened to Facebook?

      • oburi says:

Not from you. It was from a person that I used to work with. We didn’t get along well. I just don’t like people being able to keep track of me like that.

LinkedIn to the Internet is what glitter is to the crafts world: herpes. Once you’ve got it, it never goes away, and it flares up at the most annoying times.

  7. Point number 1 had me smiling. Some people do not know that courtesy is courtesy and nothing more. They are what we call ‘plonkers’
The LinkedIn is more unsettling. Where does this information come from. I don’t like it either. I got invited to join someone’s page or whatever, and I haven’t even been on the site for at least 2 years

    • ampbreia says:

Personal website or social networking site like a blog or something? That is disturbing. They appear to be pulling and spreading information that was never intended for just anyone. I went and looked at my settings there yesterday and didn’t see any way to chose or reject that though.
