1. My daughter Amelia hooked me up with Sims 3 for making my house designs on.  I’ve been learning it by leaps and bounds, very delighted with the wonderful graphics as compared to my HGTV saying she’d like me to design some interesting homes for her sims to live in, which I’m more than happy to do.  It’s not so good for the little technical details of actual architectural drafting, but it IS very gratifying to virtually build with and its houses can even be occupied by beings of a sort: Sims!  So it’s fun.

Now Amelia and Stephen AND Jeb are crowing over having finally seen me hooked on what they are calling a “video game.”  Humph.  I’m not gaming here.  I’m building wonderful houses.  Now if only I could learn to build small.  The other Sim houses in Sunset Village average between $7,000 to $15,000 in estimated value.  Mine is at $303,000 so I guess it will be for wealthy Sims.  *SIGH* It’ll be a great place for some pretty spectacular Sim parties.  But I need to learn to build cute little cottages.  How hard can it be?  I mean really….

2.  Fascinated at how governments, ours included, seem hell-bent on controlling people in order to preserve the power bases of the wealthy minority even if it means killing people off via enforced poverty and starvation, or forbidding certain medical ventures that could cure major diseases or even more draconian measures of forced compliance as practiced by governments like the IRI or other more “normal” dictatorships.  And all love to play war games with human lives like it was a simple harmless game of cards.  We all need to be calling BS when we see it and tell them “No, absolutely not!” when they make ridiculous demands against humanity.

3.  A silly complex dream the other night.  All I can clearly recall is stepping on something that hurt my bare foot and bending down to find out that it was a wood screw laying on the carpet, others scattered nearby.  I glanced up at Jeb and said, “Hm.  Someone has a few screws loose.”

Someone knocked on the door then and I opened it to a woman dressed like a Ninja brandishing a long sharp knife at me.  I screamed out, “SCREW LOOSE PERSON IS HERE AND SHE WANTS TO KILL US!”

I made so much noise that the would-be stealthy assassin ran away and Jeb and I both woke up enough that, for me at least, the dream ended.  Jeb said I was being a very noisy sleeper.  Poor him.

I can easily attribute this dream to a woman assassin fleeing Michael Westin in a recently watched episode of Burn Notice as well as a song Jeb added to my most recent mix CD: Psycho Killer by Talking Heads.  At least I hope that’s all it is.

4.  I should be working on manuscripts instead of pointless blogs and Sim houses, shouldn’t I?  So many linger on my mind.  Not sure what to do with them all or which to do first.  What if I die before getting them done?

A fellow blogger Jolene, wrote of a nightmare she had last night that reminded me eerily of The Hidden Isles, a novel I’ve been fussing with for years but strangely wary of publishing.  Not sure how to explain it, but the novel idea was based on a series of dreams I had back in the early 1990s, many of which turned out to be prophetic.  It almost seems pointless to mention the things that have already come to pass and dangerous, somehow, to express what is yet to come.  Yet that very expression might be enough to prevent it.  Don’t know what I’m so uneasy about.  No matter what happens, I can always take shelter in that fact that it’s only science fiction, right?

5.  I’ve been finding way too many recipes that would be absolutely delightful for our upcoming Halloween party.  Unfortunately, if I surrender to making them all, there probably will not be nearly enough guests to do them proper justice.  I really must refrain from going party crazy every single year.  It gets bloody expensive and wasteful!

6.  Amelia went out with Jeb and I to the Spaghetti Factory, then to see the newest Percy Jackson movie this weekend.  Afterword, she uploaded some more Sims packages for me on my computer.  I noticed there’s a gothic one that includes spooky stuff like coffin beds and cobwebs as well as vampire, ghost, and witch Sims.  I can build a Haunted Sims mansion!  Yay!

7.  I’ve learned to wiggle my nose like Samantha Stevens did.  Does anyone care?  I wonder if this will help my magic any or if it just makes me look like a deranged mutant bunny?

8.  Belly dance off in Shoreline this weekend!  I hope I get to go!  I wouldn’t dare compete because I doubt I’m good enough, but it will still be fun to see all the others perform and also to free dance between sets.  Belly dance meets are always so very cozy and convivial.  Joyful even!  Plus, I tend to know and/or enjoy most people there.

About Ampbreia

I'm an ex-Pentacostal, ex-Muslim, ecclectic Agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings. I am not affiliated with any organized religion or political platform, but I do believe in magic and all things wise and wonderful. I work as an admin in a calibration lab. I've published 2 books so far this year: Lost in Foreign Passions: Love and betrayal, passion and loss in the heart of an alien land (a memoir of my time as a Muslimah and living in Iran for a year), written under my previous married name, Debra Kamza, and Dream Lover (a paranormal romance, the tale of witch that summons her favorite character out of a Bewitched spin-off and the actor who plays him as well). I'm constantly writing stories and poems, thoughts and dreams, and quite a few opinions - many of which are not popular but oh well. Bite me. I'm interested in art, animals, the paranormal, and people. I love to dance, all sorts, but have been studying belly dance since 2006 and LOVE it! I love anime too and love dressing up and going to conventions. My writing runs the gummut of historical, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and erotica. Beware: I may not be safe reading for work. Just saying....

The dream or whatever it was has still plagued my thoughts. I was doing some research …… just pulling up some realms of existence and it pulled up Buddhism…NOW…..a lot of what I dreamt about like the reference to their “hell” is pretty much what I saw through these 3 peoples eyes….one who happened to be a woman from india.

The more and more I read the more I am left flabbergasted because 1. I grew up Catholic 2. left Catholism and practiced Wicca 3. Believe that their are other realms out there 4. Never once read up on Buddhism until today.

How I came up with what I did is beyond me…… but it’s truly fascinating.

I need to read up about that Budhist Hell. I didn’t know they had one. Either way, I should probably finish that manuscript. I think sometimes we see ahead of us into future possibilities but our reaction to it can either keep it from happening or mitigate it in some way. I don’t think there would be any point to it otherwise. Wish you’d written more detail. I know that when I write my dreams out, I can sometimes recall a lot more than I did when I first woke up. Same as recovering old waking memories. You write around the holes and suddenly they just fill in.

Just took a read an article on the Budhist concept of Heaven and Hell and found it MUCH more reasonable than the eternal Abrahamic religious version. It’s kind of how I see it: we make our own… and it’s temporary; just a part of our growth as souls.

In Hidden Isles, the bad guy, Lucian Trevar, rules the world by making people slaves to their own fears, avarice, and anger. It’s all an illusion he creates and they buy into, never realizing for a second how easy their freedom would be to achieve. All they have to do is get past the illusion; ignore it. He worries when he realizes that certain special people can’t even see the illusion, let alone be influenced by it and he’s afraid they’ll spread this clear sightedness to his own demise so he sets out to destroy them.

the Hidden Isles is something you were working on right?? you should continue and have it published….I would read it for sure!!

The bad guy in my dream …the leader of sorts of this purgatory trapped them by their greed …. and lustful nature. He promised them everything ….. but what they didn’t know is that once they took from him they were his prisoners, they lost their freedom…..the only escape was death. In my dream , I saw people choosing death to escape the hell, torture and sadness that consumed these people, they hung themselves, that’s the only way they could move past this place.

Although…..there was another way out that many didn’t realize, a door almost. To get through you had to show no fear…..if you even doubted or second guessed yourself as you crossed this line you shattered into a million pieces.

Excuse the email reply. I couldn’t find the reply button to this on my blog. I’m still a bit new to WordPress and have yet to figure everything out. Just wanted to say that this sounds like a different viewpoint of the same story. You should write it as a story and see where it goes or, better yet, would you ever consider collaborating on this novel idea?

I would love to talk to you regarding collaborating on a novel….but first I want to see where I can take this idea…..I’m flooded with ideas and researching it……I haven’t been on such a high like this in a long time. I wouldn’t even know how to go about having it reviewed by a editor/publisher. ………..I’m just going to plug away and let those creative juices flow and see what happens.

By all means. Sounds like you’re on quite a mind opening journey there. I’m like that too when inspiration overtakes me. It’s a good thing. It always leads to surprising places.

Well it’s good you wrote about it even if you didn’t post it. It always helps to write it out. Some things that would be foggy otherwise start to make more sense.

  4. Luckily I have very few nightmares, and cannot remember the last one, but I agree building SIM houses is a valuable and absorbing pastime, and much easier than battling with manuscripts. I don’t play with SIMS, but I’m a bit tempted by Grand Theft Auto. Don’t tell anyone

Good! I suppose I have them myself but don’t tend to get too upset by them anymore. I know it’s a dream. I look for meanings as all. I also realize my dreaming mind was being “cute” with the joke about the loose screws, LOL.

I don’t know about building Sim houses being a valuable pasttime, but it is addicting… and I SHOULD be working on manuscripts. But you’re right: Sims are easier to do.

I won’t tell about your Grand Theft Auto addiction if you don’t tell about my new Sims addiction. Okay?
