1. I got my computer back with most of my files intact. I just had to reload the programs I’d added in order to access said files. As to what I lost, the damage is minimal… I lost all of the house plans I’d designed on my HGTV because reloading the HGTV meant these were erased because… damn. I don’t really know why. Just that they’re no longer there. However, I have screen shots of some that I saved pictures of as jpgs so I’m okay with this. Meanwhile, I’d grown bored with the latest plan anyway and have already started a new one. I also lost my Webeasy pages… but I was going to discontinue my website anyway, so no biggee.
2. We took my daughter Amy, her hubby Mikey, and the grand kiddies Levi and Vanessa to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium on Saturday and had a beautiful if exhausting day there. Snippet of conversation on our way there as we passed through Tacoma…
Jeb: “My ex lives right over there. Seriously. I could throw a stone from here and hit her house.”
Me: “If she asks why you’re throwing stones at house you can always say you didn’t do it. The stones fell right out of the sky and it’s not your fault.”
He arches a bushy brow at me so I explain the obvious…
“You just threw the stone into the sky. It’s not your fault it came down. It’s gravity’s.”
I was thinking of two things at that point: a documented account of houses being peppered with stones from the sky in a book called “Lo!” (I think) by Charles Forte and a quote by Einstein: “Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.”
Amy was playing us music from her laptop in response to Jeb’s complaint of all the mix CDs I’d made being stolen a week or two ago and the songs he missed therefrom, like Fireflies by Owl City. He commented how unusual it was that she and I liked all of the same music.
“Not all of it!” Amy laughed. “I know she doesn’t like Korn or Ramstein. I’m just being nice, playing the stuff I know she likes.”
Gee my daughter has angelic moments. Quite a few of them in fact.
I bought Levi and Vanessa new t-shirts to wear in the zoo, both of them very true. Hers had a tiger cub on it peering over the words “Wild Child” which is what she really is. His had a monkey on it and the words, “Mom makes me LOL” which she really does.
At the first exhibit while I stood photographing the adorable little meerkats, Amy snuck up behind me to return my hairbrush to my purse, startling me at the tickle. I dropped my camera. It now longer works. *SIGH* But at least I had it for several years, so it can’t be said I didn’t get a lot of use out of first and, frankly, it was getting a bit outdated. Time for a new one! I had to pester Jeb though to take all the right pictures for me at the zoo with his own camera. He was not willing to loan it to me for some reason.
Wild Child walked with me and we quacked at ducks and howled at wolves together and I chased her making her shriek and giggle.
3. I’ve been thinking about it and have decided that size really does matter… and that I need to find more important things to think about like… am I really remembering this accurately anyway?
4. Einstein on romance: “Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention that it deserves.” Who knew he was such a romantic? or such a scary driver while driving in love?
5. I will post zoo pictures later. I got a few before before breaking my camera. They should be safe on the card. And Jeb and Mikey each got some they said they’d give me. Jeb especially got some cute ones of the tiger cub at play with his handlers.
6. How was your weekend? What did you do?
Glad you have your e-buddy back. “Gravitation i snot possible for people falling in love”; truer words were never spoken. I would like to see how it works for people whom I’d like to see STAY in love.

Me too and my… that’s an interestingly different take on Einstein’s gravity quote. Was that deliberate or a typo?

It sounds as though you had a great day with your family! Zoos are a lot of fun for young and old. Who doesn’t like to see tigers? as long as they are in a cage. I was at an aquarium a few years ago that had some river otters in a nice, roomy environment. They were having a ball in the water. Those things are adorable.
The only thing we did last weekend was fix our water filter. Ugh, leaks!

Your trip to the zoo sounds like so much fun!
My boyfriend worked all weekend so I didn’t really do anything other than go out to eat.

It was but I felt like we were only skimming the surface as when we got there, there were only two hours left before closing and there was so much more left to be seen.
