Being opinionated

It is my opinion…

1. That any nation or group that purposefully keeps having children beyond the extent of their available resources is going to earn a Darwin award for themselves and their offspring and that anyone who encourages this in them is either an idiot or lacks a moral compass or common sense.

2.  That any religious group that practices the habit of killing people for being immodest, or sexual, or for their sexual identity, or for expressing themselves freely, or as a political or religious statement or pretty much anything when said victims have not themselves harmed other people, has absolutely no genuine respect for their creator’s creations.  In short, they’re dissing their own god and betraying their own kind.  Pigs.

3.  I think you only deserve as much kindness, understanding, and respect as you are willing to give to others.  Reference the two items before… if I acted like that, I would expect the same in return.

4. Our souls are energy and, being energy, never die.  We only change form.  We try out every possibility the better to understand, to experience, to BE.

5.  Men are people.  Women are people.  Transgenders are people.  All races are people.  All nations are people.  All religionists and non-religionists are people.  They should never be dissed on that account, but only if they earn it as individuals by dissing or harming others.

6.  Religion is boxed thinking.  Some people thrive on the moral support that gives them and no blame on them for that, but it doesn’t work that way for me personally.  I like to think outside the box – do my own thinking as it were – and don’t at all appreciate anyone trying to tell me that’s not okay.

7.  Any religious group that sees the need for killing its appostates or heretics or others for being some other religion is very intellectually and spiritually pathetically weak.  Truth does not need defending through force or intimidation.  It is self-evident to anyone with eyes/hearts/minds to see.

8.  Dancing, music, and poetry, are among the most pure expressions of our souls.  If it is not uplifting, then we’re on the wrong track and need to get back on it.  Even so, we all have our highs and lows.  That’s life.

9.  All things have souls, not just humans.  We do seem to have more conscious control over what we do with whatever we have however.  I could be wrong about this.  I could be wrong about everything.

10.  Anyone that says they have all the answers to everything is liar with an agenda.

11.  We should all find our own answers and share them in the spirit of community; not competition.  I think it would make the world a better place.

12.  What goes around comes around and the darkest part of the night is just before dawn.

13.  Everything is woven of pure magic: a feeling organized into thought; a thought organized into a tangible format; a tangible format organized into a reality, given form.

About Ampbreia

I'm an ex-Pentacostal, ex-Muslim, ecclectic Agnostic with slightly Wiccan leanings. I am not affiliated with any organized religion or political platform, but I do believe in magic and all things wise and wonderful. I work as an admin in a calibration lab. I've published 2 books so far this year: Lost in Foreign Passions: Love and betrayal, passion and loss in the heart of an alien land (a memoir of my time as a Muslimah and living in Iran for a year), written under my previous married name, Debra Kamza, and Dream Lover (a paranormal romance, the tale of witch that summons her favorite character out of a Bewitched spin-off and the actor who plays him as well). I'm constantly writing stories and poems, thoughts and dreams, and quite a few opinions - many of which are not popular but oh well. Bite me. I'm interested in art, animals, the paranormal, and people. I love to dance, all sorts, but have been studying belly dance since 2006 and LOVE it! I love anime too and love dressing up and going to conventions. My writing runs the gummut of historical, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and erotica. Beware: I may not be safe reading for work. Just saying....

  1. MMmmmm, yes. I agree with a lot of this, and the general sense and feeling about it. I’m not sure that what comes goes around comes around, or quite what that means but if it means we all get our just deserts, or that curses and chickens etc, I do think some people do get away with a life time of fairly unpleasant conduct and then die peacefully in their beds. I don’t like it, but I think its true.

I really loved this post. The world would be a better place if more people thought this way.

“What goes around, comes around,” is one of my favorite sayings, even though, unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way sometimes.

  6. I love this! I knew some of this as a child…the rest I’ve learned as I’ve matured. (Yes, I have matured some! 😉 :-D) It’s cool what life (and people) can teach us, if we just be open and listen. 🙂

I agree for most of it but that first one is so difficult since so many have no education on sex. Even in this country, birth control is a sin to some. It makes no sense when you hear the arguments against Plannedparenthood. We need those kind of places to teach and supply birth control. My childhood friend has 16 children and can support and pay for them. They don’t believe in birth control and at 43 she is pregnant again. He last 3 kids had real health problems. NOw that is a Darwin award winner for you. 🙂

Can or can’t afford them? And that’s true about sex education. Also, it never hurts to remind that adequate sex education and access to birth control prevents the need for abortions. However, there are a lot of places in the world right now suffering drought, famine, and inundation where the birth rate is going through the roof not because people are ignorant or wishing the ensuing starvation and violence of crowding on their hapless offspring, but only because their religion forbids birth control. It’s sad.
